Job Description

Retail Park Site Handyperson required, 24 hours a week 8.30am to 12.30pm, Saturday to Thursday. Based at the prestigious Retail Park at Ty Glas, Llanishen, Cardiff, a hands on role for a multi skilled person. Lone working for the majority of the time, must be able to use own initiative and to lead by example when working alongside other colleagues. Able to maintain effective communication with clients and representatives, colleagues and management, tenants, contractors and members of the public.

Duties to include, general housekeeping and supervision of site, maintenance of the landscaping relevant to the client contract specification. Hard and soft landscaping to include weeding and planting of beds, mowing of grass, pruning shrubs and trees and hedge trimming and weeding hard surfaces. Collection, cleaning and disposal of litter bins site wide, clear debris off hard surfaces and gulley’s, removal of gum, isolated stains and removal of graffiti plus cleaning of bollards, trolley bays and seats, responsible for machinery and equipment. Maintaining a level of responsibility and duty of care towards own health and safety, work colleagues, members of the public, tenants and other contractors plus equipment.

Should have a basic understanding of horticulture practices with an ability and desire to learn from management and colleagues. Completion of paperwork such as timesheets, inspection reports, plant hire sheets, day work sheets, daily site weather reports, fuel and materials received reports etc.

Full clean driving licence plus awareness of health and safety issues and compliance of company work wear policy. Working conditions can be demanding during periods of extreme weather.

Salary: £6.94 per hour
