Job Description

Sales Colleague Role / Purpose

To provide excellent customer service and assist in maintaining high operational standards in order to maximise sales and profit.

Responsibilities / Objectives

  1. When dealing with customers, maintain a professional, friendly and enthusiastic manner at all times.
  2. Present and display product correctly making full use of all equipment and point of sale materials provided, following company guidelines.
  3. Become familiar with Bonmarché products to ensure that the correct product information is given to the customer.
  4. Ensure all stock is correctly coded, priced with correct point of sale etc.
  5. Carry out all procedures to a high standard including till operation, stock replenishment, deliveries, soiled and damaged goods etc.
  6. Ensure all security procedures are adhered to at all times and respond actively to any breach thereof.
  7. Ensure feedback of relevant information is passed on to the Management team, including lost sales, customer requests etc.
  8. After achieving a recognised level of competency in any aspect of the job, train other sales colleagues and participate in the in-store buddy system.
  9. Ensure that the store is tidy and presentable and complies with Bronze S.T.A.R. Standards of hygiene, cleanliness and health and safety, with particular emphasis to the sales floor.
  10. Continue to develop self and role by using relevant training materials and store information.
  11. Carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by the Management team, maintaining a co-operative and flexible working attitude at all times.

Selection Criteria

Education / Training

Essential: Good standard of education
Desirable: NVQ in Retail Operations or Customer Service

Experience

Essential: None
Desirable: Previous retail sales experience
