Job Description

Brickfabrication Ltd is a successful, privately owned manufacturing business which was established in 1997. It manufactures pre-fabricated building products for the UK house building industry. The customer base is blue chip and as such very demanding. This is an exciting time for the Company as we grow our production capacity due to current demand in the building industry.

We are looking to recruit a Brick Cutting Operative to join our existing Cut and Bond Team.

Reporting to the Cut and Bond Team Leader you will be mainly working in the cutting department operating automated machinery and hand operated saws. You will be responsible for cutting bricks to varying widths and angles in a safe manner whilst achieving daily targets. The role will also provide cover to the bonding and other departments to meet production demands.

The Position

  • Work to deadline for daily production targets
  • Produce products to high quality standards
  • Maintain safe and clean working area
  • Wear correct and appropriate PPE for the department

The Person

  • Experience of working in a busy production environment
  • Experience of working with hand cutting saws
  • Experience and knowledge of engineering drawings and production job sheets
  • Experience of basic maintenance of modern machinery
  • Resilient to working in a noisy brick cutting department
  • Reliable with an excellent attendance record
  • Able to work with little supervision following initial training and induction
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices

The Package

  • Hours of Work – 40 hours per week (weekend and shift working may be required)
  • Rate of Pay – To be agreed, depending on experience
