HGV Driver / Customer Service Representative – Wakefield
Hours / Pay
Full-time, including Saturdays with Competitive Salary + Bonus & Benefits
Overall Purpose of Job
To provide the highest standards of Field Service to the customer by way of an effective delivery, installation, delivery and collection service.
To ensure the highest standards of Customer Care are delivered at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
• To ensure the safe loading/unloading of stock in line with Company guidelines.
• Check merchandise is secure in company vehicles; ensuring adequate product protection is maintained at all times.
• To present a professional image at all times both in appearance and in manner.
• To provide effective Customer care whilst installing, collecting and servicing products in the customer’s home.
• To assemble/ demonstrate merchandise to customer satisfaction in accordance with company standards.
• To diagnose product faults while in the customers’ premises and where possible carry out a first line repair in line with the training received.
• Install and demonstrate equipment in the customers’ premises, leaving the customer fully satisfied with the product.
• Ensure when collecting products that all ancillaries are collected at the time of the product collection.
• To complete all necessary administration; including weekly vehicle checks, store related paperwork and customer receipts.
• To assist in the collection and delivery of merchandise between stores and base as is requested.
• To effectively plan the daily route, through map reading activity.
• To undertake Customer contact telephone calls, advising the customer of the time of arrival.
• To follow the (ICD) immediate calls de-brief process to improve customer satisfaction.
• To ensure that all safe driving laws are observed whilst driving company vehicles.
• To ensure a professional image is presented in vehicle upkeep and cleanliness at all times.
• To ensure that at all times, reasonable care is taken to ensure the security of vehicles and associated assets, in accordance with Company guidelines.
• Ensure weekly vehicle checklists are completed each week.
• To ensure the vehicle is cleaned and ready for business every Monday.
• To unpack, assemble, clean and refurbish merchandise as per company policy.
• To undertake ad-hoc duties, which may relate to product refurbishment as and when required?
• To complete relevant paperwork in order to ensure accurate product identification.
• To operate ‘back to base’.
• To use the PDA devices for recording delivery activity and customer’s signature
Skills & Experience (Minimum Requirements)
Essential
• Good standard of general education
• Driving license essential
• Licence to drive 7.5 T licence essential
Desirable
• In home customer service experience
Organisational Relationships
• Service centre management and staff
• Store management and staff
• Regional Managers
• Service Division management
• NSC
• Third Parties.
Core Competencies
• Good customer contact/ interpersonal skills- ability to establish a professional rapport with the customer.
• Ability to install and demonstrate a product to a customer.
• Map reading ability (A-Z).
• Literate and numerate with a good standard of handwriting.
• Flexibility to work extra hours may be necessary to complete the job requirements.
• Willingness to work shift rota which will include Saturday working with different weekly rest days
